Consolidation of structures in reinforced concrete of the city of arts and science

Structural consolidation with FRP of the “Ciudad de las Artes y Las Ciencias” - Valencia (España)

Intervention: The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias designed by the architects Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, is an example of organic architecture, which thanks to avant-garde construction qualities manages to harmonize the elements with the contents, while leaving the Mediterranean tradition to shine through sea and light through a play of colors between the blue of the large open-air water ponds and the white of the concrete. In order to achieve the change in the intended use of some environments, a structural consolidation intervention was carried out with carbon fiber fabrics from the Olympus FRP line on elements in reinforced concrete.
