Olympus-Fire REI 120: the first system for the fire protection of FRP consolidation systems
Olympus has developed, engineered and qualified a fire protection system for FRP consolidation systems on existing floors, developed with fibrosilicate calcium plates, engineered ad hoc to ensure certified fire resistance Rei 120. The system was certified at the Istituto Giordano Spa test laboratories.
The silicate calcium slabs, light but highly resistant, offer an effective barrier against high temperatures in mating with a special sealing putty, protecting the reinforced structures with FRP without compromising their functionality. Thanks to their high thermal stability, they maintain the mechanical properties of the reinforcement unchanged, helping to preserve the integrity of the building and the safety of the occupants.
