FRCM systems offer numerous advantages over other types of composite materials, including the high strength of the fibrous component and the use of inorganic matrices. All these advantages make FRCM systems an excellent structural strengthening technology for load-bearing masonry structures.
REINFORCEMENT OF MASONRY WITH LOW-THICKNESS FRCM SYSTEMS
The historical and artistic heritage of our country is represented by numerous masonry structures, both for private buildings and for structures of monumental interest. Numerous structures require structural consolidation, and many seismic events have caused damage to buildings, necessitating restoration work. In order to guarantee masonry structures an adequate level of performance, OLYMPUS proposes the new Olympus STONE system which, through the use of fiberglass meshes, preformed in GFRP, allows for the increase in the mechanical characteristics of the masonry elements. The consolidation systems obtained by installing fiberglass meshes from the OLY STONE line allow for the easy remediation of structural deficiencies affecting vertical structures, allowing, unlike interventions carried out with traditional materials, reduced invasiveness and high durability over time.
Certified CVT systems
By Decree of the President of the Superior Council of Public Works, the "Guideline for the identification, qualification and acceptance control of inorganic matrix fiber-reinforced composites (FRCM) to be used for the structural consolidation of existing buildings" was approved, issued in December 2018. The systems of the OLYMPUS FRCM line are certified CVT n° 293-2022
Consolidation interventions on masonry elements
-
Masonry panels → shear reinforcement for in-plane actions of the masonry
-
Masonry panels → shear and flexural reinforcement for out-of-plane actions
-
Macro masonry elements → prevention of local collapse mechanisms
-
Masonry columns→confinement

First layer of OLY WALL STRUKTURA F15 for a thickness of approximately 5 mm, covering the entire area affected by the reinforcement, to prevent the reinforcing mesh or steel fibre fabric from coming into direct contact with the masonry. Manually apply the OLY MESH G320/G600 reinforcement according to the design specifications and gently press it into the first layer of mortar. Ensure an overlap of at least 15 cm between adjacent strips. Insertion of the OLY ROPE ARAMIDE flakes, CE marked via ETA, into the designated holes and sealing them with OLY RESIN I resin Final covering with a layer of OLY GROUT MX structural mortar until reaching an overall thickness of 10 mm, incorporating the mesh and connectors previously applied
