Reinforcement of reinforced concrete beams with FRP systems

Structural safety and the seismic retrofitting of masonry buildings are issues of current and significant importance within civil society. Numerous structures require structural strengthening interventions, and numerous seismic events have affected and continue to affect Italy over the years. Therefore, the need to ensure structures perform adequately in accordance with current regulations and with the numerous seismic events has emerged. OLYMPUS FRP fits into this context, using composite materials made of high-strength fibers and polymer resins. These materials represent an innovative technology compared to traditional reinforcement systems, offering countless technical and practical advantages. Certified CVT systems

With Decree of the President of the Superior Council of Public Works no. 220 of 9 July 2015, the "Guideline for the identification. Qualification and acceptance control of fiber-reinforced polymer matrix (FRP) composites to be used for the structural consolidation of existing buildings" was approved, approved with favorable opinion no. 115/2013 of 19 February 2015 by the First Section of the Superior Council of Public Works. With regard to the use of fiber-reinforced polymer matrix (FRP) composites to be used for the consolidation of existing buildings, reference can continue to be made to the provisions of point 8.6 of the Technical Standards for Construction pursuant to Ministerial Decree 14/01/2008. For the consolidation of existing buildings using fiber-reinforced polymer matrix (FRP) composites, only materials qualified pursuant to the Guideline may be used." Application of OLY RESIN BASE DB with a metal spatula for thicknesses of approximately 1-2 mm Application of OLY RESIN 20 HTG using a short-haired roller Application of the OLY TEX CARBO/OLY TEX ARAMIDE fabric in possession of CVT of the OLYMPUS FRP line previously cut to size according to the design scheme by making it adhere to the support and applying pressure with an OLY ROLL aluminium roller Application of second coat of OLY RESIN 20 HTG using a short-haired roller or brush Final treatment with an OLY ROLL aluminum roller in the direction of the fibers, avoiding moving them, to eliminate air bubbles. If necessary, repeat the application of OLY RESIN 20 HTG until the fabric is perfectly impregnated.
