STRUCTURAL FLOOR SLAB WITH CHEMICAL CONNECTION

In order to achieve solidity between the new concrete slab and the existing deck, OLYMPUS engineered and qualified a chemical connection system created using a medium-viscosity epoxy resin applied to the extrados of the floor slab before casting the new slab. These innovative consolidation systems, in addition to ensuring increased rigidity and mechanical resistance of the deck, are characterised by the following technological advantages:  
    • High speed of intervention
    • Uniform distribution of stresses
    • No damage to existing structural elements
    • Lightweight slab with OLY GROUT 1600 concrete
    • No oxidation phenomena with the OLY MESH GLASS 132x132 / OLY REBAR MESH 150x150 fiberglass mesh

Test Report

In order to characterize the Rapid Structural Concrete System®, a series of experimental tests was carried out at the laboratories of Istituto Giordano SpA on 1:1 scale floors. The objective of the experiment was to determine the actual increase in the useful load-bearing capacity of the floor, thanks to the contribution of the Rapid Structural Concrete slab..
