REINFORCEMENT OF VAULTS WITH LOW-THICKNESS FRCM SYSTEMS

The composite materials of the FRCM Olympus STONE line can be used in interventions of structural consolidation of existing buildings. Thanks to the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of the systems, they are particularly suitable for the structural reinforcement of load-bearing walls. They can be used in seismic adjustments and improvements or in local repair interventions to remedy structural deficit situations. The Olympus STONE FRCM systems comply with the Guidelines of the Superior Council of Public Works. FRCM systems they are configured as kits as they are made up of multiple components that are joined together during the application phase to form the FRCM system that will be used for structural consolidation. The system components are a fiber reinforcement (fabric or mesh) and an inorganic matrix based on natural hydraulic lime in addition to the possible presence of connectors.

Certified CVT systems

By Decree of the President of the Superior Council of Public Works, the "Guideline for the identification, qualification and acceptance control of inorganic matrix fiber-reinforced composites (FRCM) to be used for the structural consolidation of existing buildings" was approved, issued in December 2018. The systems of the OLYMPUS FRCM line are certified CVT n° 293-2022

Saturation of the masonry substrate with water, in order to prevent it from absorbing the mortar mixing water, forming cracks and fissures on the subsequent layers Spread the first layer of OLY WALL STRUKTURA F15 to a thickness of approximately 5 mm, covering the entire area affected by the reinforcement, to prevent the reinforcing mesh or steel fibre fabric from coming into direct contact with the masonry. Manually apply the OLY MESH G320/G600 reinforcement according to the design specifications, gently pushing it into the first layer of mortar while applying light pressure. Ensure an overlap of at least 10-15 cm between adjacent strips. Application of the second layer of OLY WALL STRUKTURA F15 for a total thickness of approximately 10-15 mm Insertion of the OLY ROPE ARAMIDE flakes into the designated holes and sealing them with OLY RESIN epoxy resin
